Previous Grants

Kindergarten Partnership and Innovation Grant

The Kindergarten Partnership and Innovation Grant funds were awarded to the Intermountain ESD to begin building a PreK-3 system in Eastern Oregon. We have been able establish Professional Learning Teams (PLTs) across Umatilla, Morrow, and Union Counties in seven different communities. These PLTs have members from early childhood through third grade attending on a regular basis. These PLTs discuss topics in education and are working toward better educational alignment in local communities.

These grant funds end June 30, 2015, but the PLT members and the Intermountain ESD are committed to continuing these PLT meetings through continued planning and support.

Literacy Grant

The Literacy Grant funds were awarded to Umatilla Morrow County Head Start through June 30, 2015. These grant funds have been used to offer Learning Picnics across Umatilla, Morrow, and Union Counties. The learning picnics are a guided, interactive literacy activity between parents and their children. Every child who attends a learning picnic receives a free book. This program has served about 940 children and about 600 adults across our region. A second Literacy Grant award allowed the Blue Mountain Early Learning Hub to expand the Ready! for Kindergarten program in our region.

Family Support Services Grant

The Family Support Services grant has allowed the Blue Mountain Early Learning Hub to distribute over 600 Oregon Parenting Education bags to several underserved communities in Umatilla, Morrow, and Union Counties.

Focused Child Care Network Grant

The focused child care network grant is allowing the Blue Mountain Early Learning Hub to partner with Child Care Research and Referral to offer training and support to child care providers in Morrow County focused on the Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS)
