Kindergarten Transition and Family Engagement Grant

To support children and families as they navigate from early learning to K-12 systems, the Blue Mountain Early Learning Hub offers funding opportunities that support events and activities focused on the Kindergarten transition process.

School Districts and Early Learning programs are eligible to apply for this grant.

Applicants can request up to $1,200. Multiple applications from the same district may affect funding decisions.

Application are due no later than 45 days prior to the start of the project. Approval and contracts may take up to 30 days to complete.

Project ideas:

Projects may be gear towards all children entering Kindergarten or targeted towards a specific population:

• Family engagement nights to support building a positive relationship between home and school, and provide families an opportunity to share information with the school

• Parent education nights to support awareness of school readiness skills, social emotional skills and/or health & nutrition skills

• Family engagement activities to support parent-child activities around school readiness skills

• Home visiting or socialization activities for incoming Kindergartners that live in remote areas that limit access to regular preschool and early learning programs.

• Collaboration across early learning, k-12 and families to share information, data and create success plans for children.
